We had great fun during our topic launch day! We spent the morning learning Old English, making crowns and designing sheilds. We also made a vegetable soup and created a place mat ready for our banquet in the afternoon. After lunch we learnt a medieval dance before going into the hall to perform the dance infront of Year 2. We then had our banquet - our soup was very yummy!

Look at our fantastic entries to this year's egg competition! Well done to everyone who entered.

Today we celebrated World Book Day. The children looked great in their costumes! As part of the day, the children enjoed visiting a different classroom to listen to a story read by Miss Middlebrook.

Today the children came to school dressed in sport clothes and ready to take part in running a mile for Sport Relief. The children had enormous fun and showed real determination in completing the mile. Well done everyone!

Today we had our first class assembly! We really enjoyed sharing our learning with the rest of the school and our adults. We hope you enjoyed it too.

Today we had great fun participating in a French Skipping Workshop. We learnt how to play a French Skipping game and practised plate spinning which was great! We particularly liked the challenges of standing on one leg and holding the spinning plate high above our head. We then played a Japanese jungle game. The children are looking forward to taking part in these activities again during playtimes with the new resources.

We had so much fun during our Woodland Workshop. We all made our own minibeast using things we found in the Orchard before working in teams to build shelters for our animals. We found them some food and purified water for them to drink. We then poured water over the shelters to see if they were waterproof - luckily all our minibeasts managed to stay dry! We were then challenged to create shelters for ourselves before they too were tested to see if they were waterproof. We finished our mrning with hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows and popcorn on the campfire... Yummy!

We have been working really hard on our nativity over the past few weeks and today was our performance. We had a brilliant time and the children's performance was outstanding! We are very proud of them. Thank you for all of the costumes and help with learning lines. They all looked and sounded fantastic!

Today was Children in Need. We came in dressed in something spotty and bought buns from the bun stall. We had a great day and enjoyed spending the day in our own clothes.

During orchard week we went down to the orchard with the Ipads. We took pictures of the different areas of the orchard and we discussed how it had changed since the summer. We also tidied up the apples that had fallen from the trees.

We have been learning about our senses. We have explored our sense of taste, touch, sight, hearing and smell. We have had a lot of fun finding out about the importance of our senses and how we use them in everyday life. Challenge your child and see if they can remember all 5!

When we came into school today our classroom had been visited by some naughty dinosaurs who decided to explore our room. They left behind a trail of mess and we had to try and work out what had happened!

We were visited by some Maasai Warriors who taught us about their culture and traditions. We learnt some dance moves and heard some traditional songs.

Today we had a visit from a flamenco dance teacher. This was to celebrate the European day of languages. We were taught a range of new moves linked to a story about a matador. We needed to clap our hands and stamp our feet a lot! At the end of the day we performed our dance to the rest of the school.
