Year 5/6 put on an outstanding performance of the Shakespearian play, “Macbeth”

Year 5/6 were lucky to experience wheelchair basketball as part of Sports Week.

Year 5/6 took part in a sponsored walk to raise money for school equipment. It was a breezy, sunny morning, perfect for walking. The class completed the two laps of the circuit in under an hour. Well done year 5/6.

Congratulations to the Yr5/6 Girls football team, who not only made the play-offs but secured 3rd place in the Selby Schools League.

This term we have started working with Rowena from York University who, along with her team, have designed a game to help teach children grammar rules in French. We were selected to help test the game and have spent a number of weeks this term completing the pre-trial tasks and exercises before being allowed to start playing the game.

As part of our topic on Scandinavia, we looked at Scandinavian cakes and biscuits. During DT, we made Kladdkaka (Swedish sticky cake) and Norwegian almond biscuits.

Y5 had a great day at Sherburn High School, taking part in a range of French activities, led by the students of Sherburn High School.

The children learnt various skills such as how to talk about their hobbies and order food in a French café.  They even got to sample croissants and pain au chocolat!  The children worked hard all day and were a credit to our school.
