Athelstan School is going through a period of growth and expansion and is therefore looking to recruit outstanding candidates both Teaching and Non teaching to join our school .Recruitment will be in line with the school growth and its move to two form entry.

Head Caretaker role with great benefits.

Athelstan Primary School, Sherburn in Elmet, has had an extensive refurbishment and new build project completed and they are now looking for a Head Caretaker to maintain the school’s excellent new environment as well as manage a team of 5 cleaning staff.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to join our Facilities Management Team and where your dedication to the role will enhance the children’s learning environment. Athelstan Primary is a friendly family orientated school where the children learn about good behaviour and respect to others.

In this role you will be responsible for the security of the site, responding to emergency call outs as well as ensuring outside areas are kept safe and clean. You will proactively support the maintenance of the building, assist with minor repairs and replace consumables. Your role will include supporting the training and development of Cleaning Assistants on site as well as assisting with cleaning duties as needed.

As Head Caretaker you will also have the responsibility to close the school. Your hours will be between 3.30pm and 7pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility in the start and finish times. This totals 17.5 hours per week with an hourly pay rate of £8.36 per hour.

This role is ideal if you have experience within a caretaking role or if this is an area you would like to develop your career in. We offer full training to support all our staff and there is a strong area management team to support and develop you further.
