Athelstan School is going through a period of growth and expansion and is therefore looking to recruit outstanding candidates both Teaching and Non teaching to join our school .Recruitment will be in line with the school growth and its move to two form entry.

Room Leader 2-Year-old Nursery                       Level 3 and above   Band 7 SCP 19-25

Term Time only   Full Time 37.00 hours including non-directed time  

We are looking to appoint a hardworking, knowledgeable, dynamic, passionate and creative room leader, to lead the two-year-old team in our well established Raindrops room. You must be committed to following a creative, child centred approach to teaching and learning and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You would work alongside an established motivated and supportive Early Years Team, led by our Deputy Head teacher. The appointment will be for someone who is enthusiastic and committed, to become a valued member of our friendly team. Athelstan School is a friendly, warm and welcoming school there is a strong family and inclusive ethos, where teamwork is highly valued and the role of the individual within the team is respected.

Appropriate training and support can be provided. We are committed to inclusion and we are looking for a good team player with a flexible approach to learning, as well as an ability to foster excellent and appropriate professional relationships with children and their parents/carers. 

You must:

  • Be an experienced proven outstanding practitioner
  • Be fully up to date with current EYFS best practice in teaching and assessment.
  • Be able to motivate and lead the team within your room
  • Be an excellent team player contributing to the foundation stage as a whole
  • Be confident in communicating positively with parents, and all other stakeholders on a daily basis.
  • Be hardworking and willing to contribute to the whole school ethos
  • Ensure that all children attending the setting receive a creative, inspiring and stimulating learning environment with high quality care, are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences both indoors and outdoors.
  • Have a sense of fun!

The successful applicant will have at least a Level 3 to join our nursery team as a room leader. The successful candidate will also have experience of working with 2 year olds.
