Puddles

Puddles had lots of fun visiting the Orchard in small groups as part of our outdoor learning week. We discussed ways to stay safe in the Orchard and we talked about respecting the natural things we find. We read the story 'Leaf Thief' which tells the story of a squirrel who is worried that his leaves are getting taken by a leaf thief. The squirrel then learns that it is the wind who is taking the leaves by blowing them around. 

The children then explored the Orchard and found natural objects such as sticks, twigs, leaves and apples. We collected our findings in the tray and spent some time looking and discussing the objects we found. We sang 'Autumn Leaves are Falling Down' together and enjoyed looking in the pond.
