Year 4

Welcome to Year Four

Teachers in Year Four are:

Miss Snowden in the Blue room with Miss Allinson and Mrs Hemmingway

Mr Tull in the Neela room with Mrs Bennett and Mrs Lax 

Our PSHE ground rules:

- It is ok to feel embarrassed

- Respect other people's views

-It is a safe space to ask questions

-Take turns when discussing things

Our PE days are:  Tuesday and Thursday.  Children should bring in their PE kit on a Monday and be taken home on a Friday. PE kit includes: a white T-shirt, black or navy shorts or joggers, a dark coloured jogging top and trainers.

Homework: We will send out Homework  every Friday consisting of a maths task on MyMaths and either a grammar or reading task. The task will be linked as far as possible to that weeks learning. Homework must be handed in by the following Thursday. 

Reading: As part of our homework, we expect children to read daily to an adult at home. 

        Books will be changed every Friday if the online quiz has been completed on Accelerated Reader.

Spellings: We will send out new spelling lists every Friday on the weekly newsletter. We encourage children to practice their spellings in a variety of ways such as look, cover, write and check, rainbow words, pyramid words and through drawing pictures around the words. 

Timestables: Year 4 children will undergo a national online, timed times tables assessment. As such, we expect children children to practise both in school and at home too. More information about this can be found under the 'Curriculum' tab.
