General Teaching Assistant+ SEND    10 hours per week (Daily 1pm -3pm)

Grade C/D Scale 3-6

Fixed Post to August 2026

Are you passionate about making a real difference in a child's educational journey? We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to provide support for a child with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in helping a child thrive within our school environment. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll be instrumental in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of a child. Your work will directly contribute to their progress and well-being, helping them to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Providing tailored one-to-one support to a child with an EHCP
  • Assisting with the implementation of the child's EHCP, adapting learning materials and activities as needed.
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to monitor progress and contribute to reviews.
  • Supporting the child's social and emotional development, fostering independence and positive relationships.
  • Helping to manage behaviour and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

We're Looking for Someone Who Is:

  • Patient, empathetic, and understanding, with a genuine desire to help children succeed.
  • A strong communicator, able to work effectively with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching and Learning Support, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential if you have strong relevant experience.
